WINTER STORM, 2008
WHAT A STORM!
Friday March 7 started out like a typical Friday: students working hard and heading toward another weekend UNTIL...

One of the largest Winter Storms in our area history hit, dumping 17 inches of snow onto the Springfield and Clark County area! The CTC had released students 2 hours early in order for everyone to get safely home. Overnight and all day Saturday, the snow just kept falling along with strong winds. The National Weather Service issued a Blizzard Warning for our area!

Bet the snow plows and shovels kept pretty busy over the weekend!

Thomas in Lab Action!
Congratulations Thomas!
Congratulations to Auto Services Senior student/athlete Thomas Stickney!

Thomas placed 6th in the Southwest Ohio District State Wrestling Tournament over the weekend of February 23-24 at Fairfield High School near Cincinnati. Thomas was injured during his second match on Saturday and hurt his chances to advance to the State Championships as the top 4 places move on.

Thomas' associate school is Springfield South, and he was very proud to be part of the last wrestling squad this season. Did we mention he was also the Team Captain?

Great Season, Thomas! We are very proud of you and your efforts!

The Crew
Senior/Second Year Class-AM Laboratory

Senior class members keep working hard to improve their skills and learn new ones. Practice on Vehicle Maintenance/Repair, Small Engine, and Detailing techniques is continuous. Classmates are working together on teams as well as on their own.

Using a Professional Attitude and Safety Working in the Laboratory EACH DAY is stressed always. Proper use and care of Lab Tools and Equipment continues to be demonstrated by the Senior students.

Don't forget the importance of having a Professional Appearance and handling yourself with confidence as students interact with customers and in other classes during EVERY DAY.

Stay focused on your goals and I wish you much success! You CAN do it!

Detailing a Van!
Junior/First Year Class-PM Laboratory
First year-PM Lab class members have constantly practiced the skills introduced this year. Our focus is on Interior/Exterior Detailing and Basic Vehicle Maintenance procedures.

Safe working attitudes and conditions have top priority in the Auto Services Laboratory. Using our laptop computers and the online resource "Today's Class", EVERY PM LAB STUDENT has successfully completed each lesson with a quiz following each and ALL PM LAB STUDENTS have passed the Final Exam for the 'Shop Safety' module. GREAT WORK! Thank you for doing your very best to learn how a professional needs to work and act safely!

Next up: The Brake System module on "Today's Class"

Our class visited the Senior Cosmetology PM Lab to learn Professional Grooming skills. The class cannot wait to return this spring!

Small Engine Repair is being introduced during this Second Semester, just in time to prepare for the upcoming lawn-cutting season!

Stay focused during the long, cold Winter, only a few weeks until Spring

This is FUN!
As the Year Continues...
My expectations are for all students to motivate yourselves and improve your skills, reach out and help others, and explore both career and personal goals as this school year moves forward.

I am excited to watch all of you growing in the Auto Services program.  Continue your hard work to learn, sharpen, and expand your skills. Check your goals and keep going!

Concentrate on how you do your job each day. PUSH YOURSELF to do the BEST THAT YOU CAN and be a "PRO" in everything you choose to do.
